And also, as I stated in the OP, if the game can't be maxed out at 720p and run at least at 30fps with that hardware, then I'm not interested in it. So any good game with that feel would be an excellent suggestion. Good call, right?īy the way, I'm for some reason really into the isometric point of view, like in the classic Blizzard games, or in a WWII game called Commandos which I spent a lot of time playing. Actually, I'll wait to see what Diablo 3 needs to be played maxed out at 720p giving steady 60fps, and then build my system around that. I gotta say, I'm really tempted to get a 5770, but first I'll wait and see how the Bulldozer platform and the 28nm GPUs turn out to be before I make a move.

I think I'll play through the prequels to the current favorite games of many people, like Elder Scrolls and Fallout, so I get to furtherly enjoy the newest installments of those and many other great series once I get a proper gaming PC. Nonetheless, everyone has brought up some very good suggestions. Really though, it's a matter of taste, so it's up to you to decide what you like Games like DOOM, Duke Nukem, the Fallout Series, Arkanum, BASS, HOM&M series, Ground Control series and perhaps even games as "new" as the original Far Cry and IL2 Sturmovik, Psychonauts, etc. You could try games like Descent I & II, with one of the engine rebuilds for true 3d and modern controls. These guys are a class act, and I HIGHLY recommend them.Īs for specific games to try? I've gotten a lot of hours of fun out of emulators for old Sega systems (yes I owned the original systems and games - that's part of the fun, bringing back memories)
